Two Fits to Check Before Traveling with a Leather Laptop Bag

Before a business trip, a work bag needs to pass two different checks: its luggage strap must work with your suitcase, and its laptop compartment must work with your device. Success on one tells you nothing about the other. A bag can attach to rolling luggage and still be the wrong size for your laptop.

Use this two-fit checklist before buying or packing. We use the Anthony leather laptop bag with a luggage strap as a concrete example, with a clear distinction between confirmed features and measurements you still need to request.

First, understand what the product photo shows

The Anthony photograph shows the brown bag resting on a blue rolling suitcase, with the extended handle passing behind its horizontal rear strap. That is useful evidence of the attachment layout. It is not proof that the strap will fit every suitcase handle, or that a particular laptop fits inside the bag.

Look at the rear attachment rather than the shoulder strap: they serve different purposes. The luggage strap connects the bag to the suitcase handle. It does not establish a tested load limit or make the whole setup suitable for lifting by that strap. A suitcase is not included with Anthony.

Anthony: confirmed features versus checks still needed

Question Confirmed on Anthony What to check for your setup
Can it attach to rolling luggage? A rear suitcase-compatible strap, shown in use in product photos. The usable strap opening and your suitcase handle's widest point, shape and extended height.
Will my laptop fit? A separate laptop compartment with a closure. Usable interior width, height and depth, plus the opening; include your device's sleeve in your measurements.
What do the listed dimensions mean? The bag is listed as 16 inches long by 12 inches high. These are exterior measurements, not a 16-inch-laptop compatibility promise. Interior dimensions still need confirmation.
How can I organize smaller items? One outside zipper pocket, one inside zipper pocket and one slip pocket. Whether your charger, cables and other essentials fit without crowding the laptop compartment or preventing closures from closing.

Make a measurement note before you order

Keep all measurements in the same unit so they can be compared directly. Record the laptop's actual width, height and depth; do not substitute its advertised screen size. If you normally use a protective sleeve, measure the sleeved device as well. That is the object you need to fit, not just the bare computer.

For the suitcase, note the widest part that must pass through the luggage strap, including the top grip, not only the distance between the handle's upright bars. Also record the exposed handle height above the suitcase. A photo taken straight on can help explain an unusual handle shape, but it is not a substitute for measurements.

Then ask Adamonde to confirm the interior compartment and strap-opening measurements. A useful request is: “My sleeved laptop measures [width × height × depth]. My suitcase handle is [width] at its widest point. Please confirm the usable laptop compartment, its opening and the luggage-strap opening for Anthony.”

Ask about the compartment closure too. Getting a laptop through an opening and being able to close the compartment normally are separate questions. If those details are not confirmed, keep compatibility undecided rather than interpreting the exterior bag size as an answer.

Try your normal packing layout at home

Once both fit questions are answered and you have the bag, check the combination with the items you actually carry. This is a check of your own setup, not a claim that Adamonde has tested every device, suitcase or load.

  1. Check the device first. Place the laptop or sleeved laptop in its intended compartment. It should not require forcing the closure or bending the device to make it fit.
  2. Add everyday essentials. Use the smaller pockets for items that fit them. Confirm you can still reach the laptop and close the bag without pressure from a bulky charger.
  3. Check the suitcase connection. On a stable surface, make sure the rear strap passes over the extended handle without forcing it and the bag rests on the suitcase.
  4. Check the complete setup. Keep hold of the suitcase handle while trying a short, slow walk and a gentle turn. If the bag shifts awkwardly or the suitcase feels unstable, adjust the packing or use a different carry arrangement.

Choose for the journey you actually make

A luggage strap is most relevant when you use rolling luggage. If your routine is a walk to the office without a suitcase, give more attention to device fit, access and organization. Anthony has a top-grain leather exterior and cotton lining, with black and brown options.

On October 20, 2026, Anthony was available in both colors at $120 before shipping and any applicable tax. For other layouts, compare Adamonde's leather laptop bags under $150. Check current prices, availability and each model's confirmed features before choosing; do not assume every bag has the same strap or interior.

Orders are dispatched the same business day from our Los Angeles warehouse. Dispatch is not next-day delivery; review the shipping and returns details when planning your order.

The practical rule is simple: confirm suitcase attachment and laptop fit independently. A useful feature list starts the decision. Measurements and a check with your own travel setup finish it.
